Description: This is a vintage cross peen hammer head only that had the initials J.D. welded directly to the side...maybe it belonged to VP candidate J.D. Vance...or perhaps not! Still, a great piece to have for election day when the results pour in and the hammer drops on the opposition and a great piece to use for years to come. If you can verify that it belonged to Vance, it could be worth a bundle! Maybe it actually belonged to Jack Daniels. Heck, even if it belonged to John Denver, you're still doing alright! At any rate, this hammer head is currently mounted to the wooden handle which is pretty well shot (cracked, dried, loose and split) and I plan to remove it prior to shipping but I will give you the option to keep it if you decide for some reason that you'd want it. Bear in mind that the extra length of the handle, in conjunction with the overall weight (approximately 3 pounds) will cause the shipping cost to increase an additional $2.85+/- depending on your location. Please send me a message after winning to let me know if you want the handle so I can add the additional shipping amount to your invoice, otherwise the handle will be removed prior to shipping and you will receive just the head. The hammer head itself is in nice shape with lots of naturally aged patina as seen in the photos and it isn't chewed up or mushroomed and with a nice edge. I don't see a brand name on it or country of origin but it appears old and there may be branding under that patina somewhere.
