Not only do you have to solve the typical jigsaw shapes, but you also have to match unique words with the correct definition or origin of the word. There are fun little cartoon graphics for each word which helps in the assembly. The tough part is that the pieces are shaped so that you CAN potentially choose the wrong definition and still make the pieces fit, if you're not careful about matching the graphics. I thought I was pretty smart about many of the obscure words, and was surprised to find I didn't know as much as I thought. Took me several days to finish this 500+ piece puzzle, but it was really enjoyable and I did learn some new words, as well as corrected my knowledge on what I had thought some words meant. This could be a fun, challenging puzzle to incorporate into a homeschool curriculum, or even a small regular classroom. The poster is a nice bonus too, with the entire puzzle and all the words shown.
